My thestral from Harry Potter.
Done yesterday on my 18th birthday at Artrageous Ink in Green Bay, WI by Brenda.
It reads “all was well” (the last sentence in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows)
I grew up on Harry Potter and wanted something signify the ending of my childhood and the ending of the series since they coincided so well.
I absolutely love it :)
When I turned four, I was greedily devouring any piece of typing I could get my grubby little hands on. My mother, hoping to keep me entertained, decided to give me a set of the most complicated books she could think of; namely, The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes.
Unfortunately for her, I burned through them faster than she could have guessed. Fortunately for her, I read them over and over until the pages peeled away from the leather binding.
I am a fan of many incarnations of the world’s only consulting detective, including (but not limited to) Jeremy Brett (Granada Holmes), Robert Downey Jr. (Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes), and Benedict Cumberbatch (BBC Sherlock). 221B Baker Street is the address of the infamous detective, and will forever be an iconic symbol to fans of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s work.
Sherlock Holmes was my first fandom (if not the first in existence), and I will be forever proud to be a Sherlockian.
MY FIRST TATTOO :) THE REBEL ALLIANCE SIGN FROM STAR WARS :)
